One year on from the launch of its new channel on YouTube, videos posted by ENWORKS to promote environmental best practice have been viewed more than 2,000 times.

The 'ENWORKS1' channel currently features 15 videos, including a short introduction to the free resource efficiency support available, as featured on our homepage, and a series of short case studies of businesses we are working with, also featured on this site.

There is also a series of short case studies on YouTube, showcasing winners from last year’s publicly funded Northwest Business Environment Awards, which ENWORKS hosted in 2010.

Inspirational stories

Featured businesses on our YouTube channel include Camfil Farr, a Lancashire-based manufacturer which, by last autumn, was working with us to realise annual resource efficiency savings of £271,000 and annual carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) savings of 942 tonnes.

Manchester-based textiles manufacturer, Mölnlycke Health Care, is also featured for its energy and material efficiency savings.

Apeks Marine Equipment Ltd in East Lancashire, a manufacturer of specialist diving equipment, was being supported last year with annual savings of £25,000 and 64 tonnes of CO2e, and was filmed about its energy efficiency initiatives and innovations in product design.

Meanwhile in Cumbria, Jonathon Kaye was filmed about the support his family-run business, Cedar Manor Hotel in Windermere, had received from ENWORKS advisers based at the Cumbria Business Environment Network (CBEN).

Coming up

Plans are now afoot for the creation of two new video case studies to highlight the impact of ENWORKS' support in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
